Job Title: Data Analytics Manager

Join the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services as a Data Analytics Manager and take on a challenging role that requires expertise in data analysis, management, and reporting. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our data analysts, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of our data-related processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the development and implementation of databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies to optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
  • Compile, query, and load data into databases from various source formats using SQL and other query languages, maintaining security protocols for data access, handling, and protection.
  • Develop and maintain tools tailored to capture essential data, enabling efficient oversight of Managed Care Organizations.
  • Lead the analysis of data sets, including monitoring and ensuring data quality, loading data into databases from various source formats, and automating data feeds for performance dashboards and reports.
  • Develop scripts or code to extract, compile, and present data or models using SQL and other computer programming languages.
  • Establish and update data quality metrics, recommending and implementing improvements to data quality associated with processes.
  • Ensure data integrity by identifying data gaps, errors, anomalies, inconsistencies, and redundancies in the content, structure, and relationships within data.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to Medicaid.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid managed care.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws related to the program area and to protection of health information; of statistical analysis processes; and of program data management and program implementation and evaluation.
  • Knowledge of statistics and analyzing data sets; of running queries, report writing, and presenting findings; of data models, database design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques; and of record keeping, including security procedures for handling, protecting and distribution confidential data.
  • Strong oral and interpersonal communication skills, strong organizational, time management, and presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail; sharp analytical and problem-solving skills.
