This is a contract job opportunity with potential for permanent placement. The position is located in Murrieta, CA, and the schedule is 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with shifts lasting 8 hours. However, the start and end times may vary depending on the location. The projected duration of the job is 3 months, and the pay rate is $23 per hour. Benefits are available, and a clean driving record is required for this float position, which involves traveling to other locations within a 15/20 mile radius.

Job Summary:

The main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow efficient. The responsibilities include:

  • Collecting and storing specimens according to established procedures
  • Properly explaining the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection to patients
  • Matching laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes
  • Labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing specimens as required by test order
  • Checking test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure accuracy
  • Packaging specimens for transport and storing them according to required temperature
  • Understanding and complying with OSHA and DEP regulations
  • Attending annual department trainings
  • Answering telephone calls and reading laboratory results to satisfy inquiries
Requirements:

To be eligible for this position, you must have:

  • A valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed
  • A minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • A High School Diploma or GED
