The YMCA of Greater Seattle is seeking a skilled Crisis Intervention Specialist to provide comprehensive, short-term crisis outreach services to youth, young adults, and families in King County experiencing a mental health or behavioral emergency.
Key Responsibilities- Provide immediate, short-term, acute crisis intervention services to families in King County to prevent out of home care and psychiatric hospitalization for children and youth.
- As part of a team, serve client families 24 hours per day, seven days a week, 365 days a year in all parts of King County.
- Develop and implement care plans and safety plans sensitive to the family's cultural, social, and mental health needs.
- Assist families in articulating personal goals for recovery, setting action plans to reach their goals, and taking initial steps on their plans.
- Document family strengths, problem areas, recovery goals, objectives, interventions, and progress using case management software and approved documentation formats within established time lines.
- Masters degree in social work, counseling, or related field.
- One or more year post-graduate experience providing short-term mental health services to youth and families from a broad range of cultures and social needs.
- Registered counselor in Washington.
- Training and experience in individual, family, and group treatment modalities.
- Ability to work in a team management approach.
- Strong organizational skills with an attention to details, timelines, and follow-through.
