Position Overview:
The University of California San Diego School of Global Policy and Strategy (GPS) is dedicated to addressing significant global policy issues, including climate change, food security, democracy, migration, human rights, and security.

At GPS, students benefit from the expertise of distinguished faculty while engaging with a diverse cohort, fostering a comprehensive educational experience across various degree programs.

Our San Diego location empowers us to innovate and address challenges with a fresh perspective, leveraging the Pacific Coast's unique advantages.

GPS offers a diverse curriculum for students interested in international affairs, including various B.A. degree options, combined degree programs, and a minor program, alongside executive education initiatives.

Under the guidance of the IGCC Associate Director and Strategic Programs Manager, the Program and Research Associate will oversee program coordination, manage the IGCC office, engage in strategic initiatives, and provide financial support for IGCC programs, including specialized training and outreach efforts.

This role entails project analysis and contributions to the academic and programmatic objectives of IGCC. The Program and Research Associate will collaborate with funding agencies, partners, and stakeholders, execute comprehensive educational initiatives, and assist with special projects as needed.

Willingness to travel domestically and internationally is essential, and the position may require overtime and weekend work.

Qualifications:
- Proven experience in negotiation and decision-making, particularly with external vendors.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze issues, resolve discrepancies, and recommend effective solutions to support organizational goals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A degree in International Relations, Political Science, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field, along with relevant post-degree experience or equivalent education and experience.
- Proficiency in common organizational and research software, including Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and virtual meeting platforms.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy.
- Capability to produce effective written content across various formats tailored to diverse audiences.
- Discretion in handling confidential information.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with policy analysis techniques.
