Position Overview: As a Product Policy Specialist, you will provide critical support to our product initiatives through a public policy lens, acting as a liaison between our product division and the policy landscape. Your role will involve collaborating across various departments to ensure adherence to international regulations, crafting documentation that reflects our commitment to responsible product practices (such as policy briefs, white papers, and regulatory submissions), and facilitating product launches.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure product alignment with essential policies, regulatory frameworks, and standards in significant global markets.
  • Draft and disseminate policy documents, responses to consultations, and other materials that articulate our approach to responsible product innovation and advocate for our policy objectives.
  • Influence and refine product policy strategies (e.g., competition, risk management).
  • Foster partnerships and collaborations with governmental bodies, non-profit organizations, and academic institutions to promote the responsible use of our products for societal benefits.
  • Engage with influential policy stakeholders through briefings, consultations, demonstrations, and high-level discussions to showcase our commitment to responsible product development and share insights from our latest research.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in public policy within the technology sector, governmental roles, or a combination of both.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with diverse teams across functions (including but not limited to legal, product, research, communications, and marketing).
  • Experience in advocating for specific policy and regulatory initiatives for technology products aimed at consumers or enterprises.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive learner who enjoys analyzing the policy implications of technological advancements and industry trends.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Demonstrated interest and expertise in complex technical subjects (preferably in AI, but other areas such as quantum computing or advanced cryptography are also relevant).
  • Preferred candidates may also possess:
  • Direct experience in product policy roles (e.g., trust and safety, public policy).
  • Background in AI/ML, particularly generative AI.
  • Knowledge in copyright, privacy, competition, or related technology policy domains.
  • Experience in establishing and managing partnerships with civil society, academia, and governmental entities.

Compensation:

The anticipated salary range for this position is $230,000 - $260,000, complemented by a competitive equity package and comprehensive benefits.
