Responsibilities:
Materials Management Specialist

This is a Union position.

Safety and Quality

Adhere to relevant safety regulations and practices.

Engage in local and plant safety initiatives.

Identify and rectify unsafe conditions when feasible and report them to management.

Establish high standards of quality in all aspects of responsibilities.

Job Performance

Key Duties Include:
Raw Material Procurement Responsibilities

Forecasting and ordering of raw materials.


Manage the procurement and oversight of raw materials that align with production schedules by analyzing available inventory, assessing short and long-term demand, and supporting strategies to minimize inventory costs.

Create purchase requisitions and orders for raw material procurement.


Communicate requirements to suppliers and enhance vendor relationships to ensure timely deliveries while minimizing costs.

Develop and maintain a schedule for inbound raw materials and tolling receipts.

Oversee the systematic receipt of raw materials in the inventory management system. Verify Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for all raw materials to ensure compliance with specifications prior to acceptance.

Conduct month-end inventory reconciliations to ensure alignment between physical counts and system records. Generate and present month-end reports to site management.

Create Engineering Change Management (ECM) documents for raw material usage.

Provide data analysis and trends regarding raw material consumption.

Ensure compliance with corporate document retention policies for all relevant documentation.

Engage with stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and internal teams.

Packaging Support Responsibilities


Conduct daily inventory assessments and issue supply requests to the packaging warehouse to ensure sufficient packaging materials are available to meet production needs.

Reconcile month-end inventory to maintain consistency between physical and system records.

Act as the primary contact for packaging design matters, facilitating communication between external packagers and corporate packaging engineers.

Conduct informal audits of packaging to uphold product standards and provide feedback on any issues encountered.

Film Conversion (Tolling) Responsibilities

Engage in tactical planning for future tolling needs.

Participate in regular planning meetings.

Collaborate with the commercial team to devise strategies for vendor inventory management


Assess stock availability and coordinate with multi-plant warehouses to ensure materials are accessible to meet customer demand while minimizing costs.

Participate in weekly calls with tolling converters to ensure delivery requirements are fulfilled.

Manage aged inventory at third-party tollers, ensuring accurate system counts and monthly reconciliations.

Review incoming COAs for tolling materials.

Create purchase orders and requisitions for commercial sales, research and development, and system deliveries.

Oversee the creation of flat files and the systematic receipt of inbound materials.

Manage label creation for tollers to identify products post-conversion.

Quality Systems Administrator Responsibilities

Act as the Blaze/LIMS Administrator.

Develop and edit Blaze templates for coatings, raw materials, and tolling materials.

Input COA results into the Blaze system for raw materials.

Ensure COA distribution to clients.

Serve as the AMOSS administrator.

Handle AMOSS entries that detail customer specifications.

Set up new products in AMOSS.

Business Service Responsibilities

Provide support for the Logistics Coordinator as needed.

Qualifications:
Requirements

High School Diploma or GED

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

Familiarity with BW reports.

Ability to communicate effectively across various organizational levels, both internally and with external vendors.

Strong organizational capabilities and analytical decision-making skills.

Proficient in troubleshooting.

Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by management.

Desired Skills and Experience

Experience with SAP or similar systems.

APICS – CSCP training or certification.
