Position Overview:
As a Materials Research Specialist, you will engage in comprehensive materials science investigations aimed at evaluating the interrelationships between structure, properties, processes, and performance of various materials and their associated manufacturing techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research to develop a materials testing framework that elucidates the relationships between material characteristics and manufacturing processes, as well as product performance.
- Collaborate with Process Engineers, Product Developers, and Modelling and Simulation Scientists to convert laboratory findings into practical applications.
- Create and maintain a comprehensive database detailing material properties and their effects on manufacturing processes and product outcomes.
- Keep meticulous records of research activities and provide regular updates to management.

Research and Development:
- Design and execute analytical studies in partnership with both internal teams and external collaborators.
- Conduct independent research while contributing to a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Perform literature reviews and assist in the formulation of study designs and research proposals.
- Develop research initiatives that align with business objectives and oversee the execution of these projects.

Data Management:
- Collect, compile, and analyze both new and existing data; interpret findings to draw meaningful conclusions.
- Present research outcomes to stakeholders and prepare for scientific discussions.

Qualifications:
- PhD in a relevant scientific discipline such as Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, Pharmaceutical Science, or Food Science.
- Strong foundation in powder science and technology, with practical experience in powder and particle characterization methods.
- In-depth knowledge of the Materials Science Tetrahedron principle, Process Engineering, and Manufacturing.
- Proven ability to translate laboratory research into practical product and process designs.

Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in traditional physical property analysis techniques and modern instrumental equipment (e.g., digital microscopy, particle size analysis, electron microscopy, etc.).
- Familiarity with data analysis methods and software (e.g., Matlab), design of experiments, and computational modeling approaches is advantageous.
- Understanding of formulation design tools, including compaction simulation and powder flow analysis.
