POSITION SUMMARY:

The Material Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the movement of materials, components, and assemblies within or across departments, ensuring alignment with production timelines and departmental priorities.

In this role, the Material Logistics Specialist assesses production timelines and collaborates with department heads to identify necessary materials or those that are overdue. This includes locating materials, requisitioning supplies, and establishing delivery sequences based on job order priorities and expected material availability. The Specialist also organizes in-plant transfers of materials to meet production demands and collaborates with supervisors for the repair and assembly of materials, as well as their transportation to various departments. Additionally, the Specialist verifies the type of materials delivered to production areas.

This position may involve monitoring and controlling the movement of materials and components along conveyor systems using remote-control panels, calculating the amount of material needed for specific job orders based on knowledge of products and manufacturing processes, and compiling reports on the quantity and type of materials available. The Specialist may also transport materials between departments using hand or industrial trucks and maintain production records to track materials in the production process, utilizing both manual and computerized systems.

Work in this position requires regular physical exertion, including prolonged periods of standing and walking.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Active DoD Secret clearance is mandatory.

High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Proficiency in operating hand or power trucks for warehousing tasks.

Experience in inventory management and document control is essential.


Experience in warehouse operations, including receiving and inspecting assets, conducting inspections on incoming and outgoing materials, and packing and labeling both general and hazardous cargo.


The Material Logistics Specialist should possess skills or the ability to be trained in operating various warehouse material handling equipment (MHE), including but not limited to stock chasers, electric vehicles, stretch wrapping machines, pallet jacks, shipping systems, dollies, hand trucks, and electric stand-up forklifts.
