Construction Inventory Manager

Position Overview: Full Time, 40 hours/week

Compensation: Salary is based on experience

FLSA Status: Exempt

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, with a 30-minute lunch break. Additional hours may be required as necessary.

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Construction Supervisor

Job Location: Various properties throughout Virginia.

Role Summary:

The Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of construction inventory items. This includes ensuring that all materials are accurately ordered, received, identified, and verified for correctness and quantity. The role also involves proper storage, distribution, and accessibility of items in line with the renovation inventory cycle.

Key Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience is required.
  • At least one year of experience in renovation is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Comprehensive understanding of inventory management policies and procedures.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily inventory assessments to identify and rectify discrepancies.
  • Document daily deliveries and shipments to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Receive and verify all incoming construction materials.
  • Engage in unit surveys and inspections to identify necessary renovation supplies.
  • Coordinate and manage all waste disposal processes.
  • Communicate effectively with management, subcontractors, and suppliers regarding inventory updates.
  • Ensure that project milestones and financial goals are achieved.
  • Maintain adherence to the approved budget.
  • Evaluate suppliers to secure cost-effective agreements while fostering trust-based relationships.
  • Assist with the general upkeep and cleanliness of storage areas.
  • Prioritize the security of materials, ensuring containers are secured at the end of each day.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
