The Capital Program at NYCEDC is tasked with directing the City’s capital budget investments into design and construction ventures that promote economic advancement. Our team comprises design and construction experts, administrative personnel, and project support analysts who collaborate to enhance the City’s infrastructure, facilities, and public amenities. We aim to bolster the City's competitive edge through the execution of a diverse range of municipal construction projects.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary liaison on contracts or projects throughout all development phases, including procurement of design and construction teams, assessments of existing conditions, programming, feasibility studies, budgeting, schematic design, regulatory submissions, bidding, construction, and project completion.
  • Engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communicate independently and proficiently across all organizational levels.
  • Build and nurture interpersonal relationships.
  • Manage a variety of tasks to meet established standards of quality, quantity, and timelines.
  • Implement a risk-based management strategy for project delivery, identifying, forecasting, and mitigating project risks.
  • Guide and motivate project teams to achieve targeted results.
  • Prioritize tasks and delegate responsibilities as needed.
  • Continuing education in Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or Urban Planning is encouraged.
  • Familiarity with industry standards is essential.

Interdepartmental Collaboration:

  • Contribute to the successful completion of designated projects.
  • Accurately interpret and apply NYCEDC policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning, or a related discipline is required.
  • Progress towards professional registration (PE, RA, RIA, AICP, CUD, CCM, PMP) is preferred.
  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience in architecture, construction, real estate development, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Strong computer proficiency and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with scheduling software is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is preferred.
  • Cover letters are encouraged and will be reviewed by the hiring team.
  • Residency in New York City is required within a specified timeframe after hiring.

Compensation: Salary range is $84,000—$86,000 USD.
