Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Chief of Staff, exercising considerable independence and discretion, undertake intricate support functions for the Parks Capital Projects division.
Compile information for discussions with elected representatives, organize materials for City Council sessions, and represent the division in meetings with other departments or agencies as required.
Assist in formulating responses to inquiries from various Parks units, including the Correspondence Team, Communications, Government Relations, New Media, and Partnerships for Parks.
Facilitate the approval process for capital initiatives with the School Construction Authority (SCA); coordinate meetings to address any conflicts arising when Parks and SCA operate on the same site.
Collaborate with senior management to synchronize budgeting activities aligned with Agency objectives.
Monitor annual capital project timelines to ensure the division achieves its targets. Collaborate with other Parks offices to organize large-scale meetings with diverse community groups requiring multiple Agency stakeholders.
Remain updated on division priorities and projects to provide briefings to the Deputy Commissioner for both internal and external engagements.

Qualifications
1. A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and two years of experience in community engagement or related activities; or
2. A high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience in community engagement or related activities; or
3. A combination of education and experience equivalent to the above, with at least one year of experience as specified in point 1.
