Position Overview:

This role is integral to the Engineering and Technical Services sector, focusing on delivering support, preventive maintenance, and repairs for various systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise team members formally, ensuring their training and professional growth.
  • Conduct evaluations and provide coaching to enhance performance.
  • Manage the recruitment and onboarding processes for new hires.
  • Coordinate daily operations and activities of the team.
  • Establish work schedules, delegate tasks, and facilitate cross-training among staff.
  • Set and monitor deadlines for both staff and departmental objectives, providing mentorship as necessary.
  • Oversee the operations and maintenance of designated facilities.
  • Develop and manage both operating and capital budgets.
  • Continuously recommend and implement enhancements to preventive maintenance programs.
  • Create and uphold comprehensive maintenance and safety procedure manuals tailored to specific buildings.
  • Act as the primary liaison for maintenance activities involving external contractors and technicians.
  • Supervise all building systems, including fire/life safety, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems, staying updated on the latest technological advancements.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with high-profile clients, tenants, owners, and vendors.
  • Drive efforts to acquire new management contracts.
  • Facilitate the creation of as-built documentation.
  • Respond effectively to emergencies such as fires, evacuations, and equipment failures, addressing customer concerns promptly.
  • Utilize a comprehensive understanding of the business and its integration with various disciplines to achieve departmental goals.
  • Exemplify leadership by modeling behaviors aligned with company values, encouraging others to consider alternative perspectives while adhering to policies.
  • Identify and resolve complex technical and operational challenges.
  • Recognize the broader implications of decisions across the department.
  • Enhance and innovate existing methods, processes, and standards within the job discipline.
  • Ensure the accuracy of weekly time reporting for clients.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree is preferred, along with 5 to 8 years of relevant experience; a combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Certification as a Health Care Facility Manager (CHFM) is required.
  • Preferred experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Strong leadership capabilities to inspire the team towards achieving operational goals across multiple disciplines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Exceptional organizational skills coupled with a proactive and inquisitive approach.
