Position Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable HR Generalist to support our expanding organization. This role will play a crucial part in fostering a positive workplace environment and ensuring compliance with employment regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the HR Manager and relevant stakeholders to conduct thorough investigations and prepare detailed summaries.
  • Serve as a resource for employees and management to promote effective employee relations.
  • Assist in evaluating job roles and managing salary structures.
  • Analyze and interpret data from the HR Information System (HRIS) to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Support administrative functions related to employee benefits, including managing leaves of absence and compliance with workers' compensation.
  • Compile and submit necessary employee and benefits data as required.
  • Coordinate the distribution of materials for benefits, training sessions, and employee surveys.
  • Aid in preparing and delivering updates on benefits and training to staff.
  • Participate in the onboarding process and assist with various HR duties during acquisitions.
  • Provide assistance to the HR Manager and department on various projects and tasks.
  • Ensure adherence to federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary for this role.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field; an Associate degree may be acceptable with significant HR experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • HR certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR.
  • Experience in the construction or transportation sectors is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.

Skills Required:
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with UKG is a plus.
  • Proven ability to conduct fair and thorough employee investigations.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations at local, state, and federal levels.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational abilities and capacity to work independently under pressure.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Experience with union environments is a plus.
  • A genuine passion for human resources and supporting employees.
