Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the HR Manager and relevant stakeholders to conduct thorough investigations and prepare detailed summaries.
- Serve as a resource for employees and management to promote effective employee relations.
- Assist in evaluating job roles and managing salary structures.
- Analyze and interpret data from the HR Information System (HRIS) to enhance operational efficiency.
- Support administrative functions related to employee benefits, including managing leaves of absence and compliance with workers' compensation.
- Compile and submit necessary employee and benefits data as required.
- Coordinate the distribution of materials for benefits, training sessions, and employee surveys.
- Aid in preparing and delivering updates on benefits and training to staff.
- Participate in the onboarding process and assist with various HR duties during acquisitions.
- Provide assistance to the HR Manager and department on various projects and tasks.
- Ensure adherence to federal and state employment laws and regulations.
- Occasional travel may be necessary for this role.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field; an Associate degree may be acceptable with significant HR experience.
- HR certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR.
- Experience in the construction or transportation sectors is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
Skills Required:
- Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with UKG is a plus.
- Proven ability to conduct fair and thorough employee investigations.
- In-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations at local, state, and federal levels.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational abilities and capacity to work independently under pressure.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Experience with union environments is a plus.
- A genuine passion for human resources and supporting employees.
