Position Overview

Responsible for acquiring necessary goods at competitive rates while ensuring adherence to quality and delivery standards.

Daily Responsibilities

1. Procurement Activities:

Ensure timely delivery of procured goods;

Review daily Exception Reports and address recommendations;

Conduct daily MRBR Report checks to verify there are no accounting discrepancies;

Implement cost-saving strategies through effective purchasing methods (maintain positive PPV savings);

Confirm that purchased items align with purchase order specifications;

Utilize expertise and judgment to set and achieve objectives;

Foster ongoing supplier relationships;

Possess knowledge of standard purchasing and inventory management practices.

2. Vendor Management:

Assess and recommend suppliers, which may involve occasional travel;

Update vendor banking information with the vendor master group;

Process AFE's purchase orders;

Solicit quotes from qualified suppliers;

Oversee the procurement and negotiation of materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors;

Analyze vendor proposals and services to identify the most suitable suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery timelines.

3. Cost Optimization:

Identify opportunities for cost reduction;

Monitor and manage cost-saving initiatives;

Make informed decisions (impacting P&L) by evaluating data and prioritizing effectively;

Negotiate extended payment terms with suppliers (up to 90 days);

Maintain inventory levels as prescribed by corporate guidelines;

4. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;

5. Capable of working independently with minimal supervision;

6. Collaborate with other departments to assess the appropriateness of purchased goods;

7. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Key Qualifications for Success

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in business or a related discipline.
  • Two to three years of relevant experience, ideally in the electronics sector.
  • Preferred certifications include CPM and/or CPIM.
