Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct a range of engineering tasks related to process configuration, mechanical systems, production methodologies, tooling, automation, maintenance, and safety protocols.
  • Contribute to the organization's objectives in Safety, Service, Quality, Productivity, and Growth.
  • Drive initiatives for process enhancement, minimizing downtime, cost efficiency, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) improvements, and participation in corrective action teams.
  • Reduce waste through the application of the Ammega Production System.
  • Tackle both immediate and long-term challenges/projects utilizing manufacturing, quality, and lean methodologies to address issues (e.g., PFMEA, Control Plan, 8D, CAPEX, ERP systems, Work Orders, Layout, etc.).
  • Engage collaboratively with fellow engineers, designers, maintenance personnel, supervisors, and production staff to effectively resolve problems, implement solutions, and support Continuous/Safety improvements aligned with the Ammega Production System.
  • Assist in project support, estimating costs, developing design concepts, and establishing engineering criteria along with initial process layouts for assigned projects.
  • Oversee the design, procurement, and upkeep of process tooling, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Devise solutions for safety, ergonomic, and material handling enhancements.
  • Act as a key resource for assembly operations, addressing issues, removing barriers, implementing improvement measures, and ensuring project completion.
  • Choose, design, and maintain the necessary tools and equipment for customization and assembly tasks to optimize safety, productivity, and quality.
  • Provide technical assistance for daily manufacturing operations and long-term strategic enhancements.
  • May involve auxiliary equipment to support assembly operations, including robotics, forklifts, hoists, etc.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to meet operational objectives.
  • Train staff, offer performance feedback, and assign and direct work as necessary.
  • Develop and uphold all departmental procedures and work instructions.
  • Foster a positive workplace atmosphere with engaged team members.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of relevant experience; or a suitable combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in programming, operating, and/or supporting CNC machining operations.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar CAD software.
  • Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies at a Yellow Belt level.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to identify issues, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Capability to read, analyze, and interpret professional and technical documents, including engineering drawings and procedures.
