Key Responsibilities:

  • Employee Relations and Workplace Culture:
    Promote a positive and inclusive workplace atmosphere that fosters staff well-being and development. Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and employees on HR matters, including conflict resolution and career growth. Lead initiatives to boost employee morale and retention through appreciation programs and wellness activities.
  • Compliance and Legal Standards:
    Ensure adherence to all employment laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels. Stay informed about HR best practices and legal requirements, ensuring ethical HR practices are followed. Develop and enforce HR policies and procedures that align with the organization's mission and values.
  • Performance Management and Development:
    Oversee the performance management process, ensuring employees receive regular feedback and development opportunities. Collaborate with managers to address performance issues and create growth plans for staff. Work with the Director of Learning & Development to implement training programs that enhance staff skills and align with organizational objectives.
  • Talent Acquisition:
    Ensure compliance with legal requirements related to recruitment and hiring. Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract top talent that aligns with the organization's mission. Collaborate with department heads to anticipate staffing needs and manage the entire talent acquisition process.
  • Compensation and Benefits:
    Oversee the administration of employee benefits, including health insurance and retirement plans. Regularly review compensation structures to ensure they are competitive and equitable. Serve as the primary contact for employee benefits inquiries and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Organizational Development:
    Partner with leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that support the organization's goals. Assist in organizational change initiatives, including staffing restructures and leadership development programs. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; comparable education and experience may be considered.
  • Master's degree and/or HR certification is strongly preferred.
  • 5-7 years of progressive HR experience, including 3-5 years of managing people or significant projects, ideally in a non-profit environment.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Proven experience in employee relations, policy development, performance management, and recruitment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in HRIS or applicant tracking systems.
  • Commitment to the mission of supporting individuals in recovery.

Working Conditions:
Traditional office environment with occasional pressure due to time demands. Travel may be required within the greater area.
