Schedule Details:

The department operates from 8 AM to 4:30 PM. The work schedule will consist of 3 days per week, with specific days subject to variation based on the physician's availability, although efforts will be made to establish a consistent schedule.

Commitment to Well-Being:

The compensation for this role ranges from $31.55 for a Medical Assistant to $34.80 for a Licensed Practical Nurse, contingent upon qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

Responsibilities Include:

Preparing and rooming patients for examinations by taking vital signs and collecting relevant health information (e.g., chief complaint, allergies, medications). Monitoring and completing Clinical Integration/Quality Improvement measures, notifying clinicians of opportunities within their scope. Conducting laboratory procedures (e.g., strep tests, wound cultures, specimen collection) following aseptic techniques and infection control guidelines. Assisting Physicians/Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs) with procedures such as pelvic exams, allergy testing, EMG, cautery, and colposcopy. Administering routine medications under Physician/APC orders or approved protocols, including immunizations, antibiotics, vitamins, and topical agents. Following through with necessary procedure or test requests, pre-approved care algorithms, and referrals to other services, while communicating effectively with Registered Nurses and Physicians/APCs. Collaborating with Physicians/APCs and other healthcare team members to ensure efficient clinic operations and effective communication with patients. Performing basic and advanced clinical support tasks based on specialty competencies, such as suture removal, laboratory procedures, phlebotomy, EKG, and prescription refills under clinical supervision. Demonstrating knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care, understanding growth and development principles across the lifespan.

Required Licenses & Certifications:

For LPN:

Active Licensed Practical Nurse license issued by the state of practice, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association, to be obtained within 45 days unless exempted by the department leader.

For Medical Assistant:

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association, to be obtained within 45 days unless exempted by the department leader.

Educational Requirements:

For LPN:

Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program beyond high school.

For Medical Assistant:

GED or High School Equivalency Diploma. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years.

Career Advancement:

This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus to be paid out on your first or second paycheck following the initial 90 days of employment (for qualified external candidates).

Proficiency in performing routine and complex technical skills within the Medical Assistant scope of practice after demonstrated competency. Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build rapport and maintain professional relationships with patients, team members, and physicians. Competent computer skills, including keyboarding, navigating a Windows operating system, and using electronic mail with exposure to electronic medical records systems. Customer service skills that enhance the patient experience.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders throughout the workday. Capacity to lift 35 pounds without assistance; for heavier lifts, patient handling equipment should be used with assistance from another team member when available. Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch, with the ability to perform fine manipulation skills. Exposure to various hazards, including mechanical, electrical, chemical, and biological, requiring the use of protective clothing and equipment as necessary. Operates all necessary equipment to perform job duties.
