Strategic Relationship Management Co-op Opportunity

The Strategic Vendor Management (SVM) team at Sun Life Financial manages the company's key strategic partnerships globally across the investment and operations teams. This internship will provide an opportunity to develop financial and analytical skills and gain exposure to many facets of institutional asset management, including Vendor Management and Investment Operations.
Key Responsibilities- Assist SVM team in developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with strategic suppliers and key investment and operations teams.
- Collaboratively build out and maintain SVM's Salesforce system.
- Identify, develop, and implement new process improvements for key SVM functions (reporting, SharePoint, work request intake, and communication programs).
- Support process improvement efforts across SVM and the broader Sun Life Financial teams to achieve key goals, primarily related to cost savings and overall vendor management.
- Develop performance review/scorecards, vendor tracking reports, and relationship summary overviews for key strategic providers.
- When applicable, assist in evaluation of vendor systems, participate in industry events/research.
- Accountable for centralizing, documenting, and maintaining strategic provider artefacts and market intelligence.
- Understand and document business processes and support other functions as needs and priorities shift.
- A strong interest in investments, finance, and the trading/market data systems used.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, Salesforce, and data analysis tools.
- Positive attitude and ability to collaborate and work effectively with a diverse range of people.
- Ability able to assess situations through analysis and observation and develop supportable solutions.
- Ability to communicate confidently to a wide variety of audiences.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Demonstrate ownership for outcomes, incorporates lessons and learning into future actions.
