Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Audiovisual Coordinator to join our team at the Perelman School of Medicine University of Pennsylvania. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing our audiovisual technology infrastructure, including video projection systems, large format LCD displays, video and audio recording systems, and audio reinforcement sound systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain existing audiovisual technology infrastructure, ensuring that equipment is secured, configured, and operating properly.
  • Assist faculty, students, staff, and other clients in the use of audio-visual devices to deliver presentations and engage in academic work.
  • Support the best use of hardware and software for our educational technology environment.
  • Manage Penn Libraries usage of applications and services used for recording and streaming media, including Panopto and Kaltura MediaSpace, and online collaboration tools such as Zoom, Teams, and Mersive Solstice.
  • Perform periodic and proactive maintenance and quality control checks, keeping all equipment in assigned areas neat and well ordered.
  • Advise and train librarians, academic staff, and students in the use of Library audio-visual technology and related applications and services.
  • Evaluate new audiovisual equipment and applications as they appear and advise Library staff in the selection, acquisition, and integration of these tools.
  • Consult and collaborate with educational technology staff in other schools and centers to help determine service and technology offerings.
  • Document systems and services and effectively communicate with staff and customers.
Requirements
  • Required: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 1-2 years' experience in a technology or support environment or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive knowledge in troubleshooting audio visual equipment, including use and maintenance of projection and large format displays, cameras, mics, and speakers.
  • Understanding analog and digital signal routing and cabling for audio and video signals.
  • Experience using digital and cloud-based recording and conferencing tools.
  • Effective interpersonal and social skills, independent problem-solving and decision-making, self-direction, and ability to handle a complex workload.
  • Commitment to outstanding customer service.
  • Technical troubleshooting ability and experience with computing and mobile hardware, operating systems and software, and cloud-based applications and services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Past experience providing training and generating documentation highly valued.
