Job Summary:

NYU Langone Health is seeking a highly skilled Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Cardiac Surgery ICU in Brooklyn. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients and their families, working collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest level of patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients in the Cardiac Surgery ICU.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account patient needs, preferences, and goals.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices and guidelines in acute care nursing.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Nursing.
  • Current registration as a Professional Nurse in New York and registration as a Nurse Practitioner in New York.
  • Certification in a relevant specialty (e.g., ACNP, AGACNP, etc.).
  • At least 5 years of clinical nursing experience in acute care, preferably in a cardiac surgery ICU.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a nurse practitioner in a cardiac surgery ICU.
  • Membership in professional specialty organizations (e.g., AACN, AANP, etc.).
