Job Title: Acute Care Nurse Practitioner - Cardiac Surgery ICU

NYU Langone Health is seeking a highly skilled Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Cardiac Surgery ICU at NYU Langone Hospital - Brooklyn. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac surgery, working collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with complex cardiac conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, incorporating evidence-based practices and patient preferences.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care, including medication management, wound care, and pain management.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, ensuring seamless transitions of care.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Nursing with a focus on Acute Care or related field.
  • Current registration as a Professional Nurse in New York and registration as a Nurse Practitioner in New York.
  • Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner in a relevant specialty.
  • ACLS, PALS, and NRP certification.
  • At least 5 years of experience in acute care nursing, with a focus on cardiac surgery or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a hospital setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to complex patient care situations.
