Job Title: Acute Care Nurse Practitioner - Cardiac Surgery ICU

NYU Langone Health is seeking a highly skilled Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Cardiac Surgery ICU at NYU Langone Hospital - Brooklyn. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac surgery, utilizing your expertise in critical care and advanced practice nursing.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess and manage patients with complex cardiac conditions, including those requiring mechanical circulatory support and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, incorporating evidence-based practices and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless transitions of care and optimize patient outcomes.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families, promoting self-management and empowerment.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Nursing with a focus on Acute Care or Critical Care.
  • Current registration as a Professional Nurse in New York and registration as a Nurse Practitioner in New York.
  • Board certification in Acute Care or Critical Care Nursing.
  • At least 5 years of experience in critical care nursing, with a focus on cardiac surgery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
