Acute Care Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Cardiac Surgery ICU at NYU Langone Hospital - Brooklyn. The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team, and contribute to the development of clinical policies and procedures.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Cardiac Surgery ICU, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring timely and effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes.
- Develop and maintain expertise in cardiac surgery nursing, staying current with best practices and research in the field.
- Provide education and support to patients, families, and healthcare providers on cardiac surgery and related topics.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with NYU Langone Health's mission and values.
- Master's degree in Nursing with a focus on Acute Care or related field.
- Current registration as a Professional Nurse in New York and registration as a Nurse Practitioner in New York.
- Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner in a clinical area of practice.
- At least five years of clinical nursing practice in the care of the patient population served.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
