Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Cardiac Surgery ICU at NYU Langone Hospital - Brooklyn. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients and their families, working collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest level of patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients in the Cardiac Surgery ICU
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account patient needs, preferences, and goals
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to enhance patient care
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, promoting health literacy and self-management skills
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Nursing
  • Current registration as a Professional Nurse in New York and registration as a Nurse Practitioner in New York
  • Certification in a relevant specialty (e.g. ACNP, AGNP)
  • Experience in critical care nursing, preferably in a cardiac surgery ICU
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
