Job Title: Acute Care Nurse Practitioner - Cardiac Surgery ICU

NYU Langone Health is seeking a highly skilled Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Cardiac Surgery ICU. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac surgery, working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess patients' physical and emotional needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans to address their unique needs.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care, ensuring seamless transitions and effective communication.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments as authorized by the collaborating physician, monitoring patients' responses and adjusting care plans as needed.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices that enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, empowering them to take an active role in their care and recovery.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Nursing with a focus on Acute Care or a related field.
  • Current registration as a Professional Nurse in New York and registration as a Nurse Practitioner in New York.
  • Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner in Acute Care or a related specialty.
  • At least five years of clinical nursing experience in acute care, with a focus on cardiac surgery or a related area.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
