Position Overview:

This dynamic role supports the implementation of high-quality and age-appropriate athletic initiatives, activities, services, and special events. The position also involves coordinating, scheduling, facilitating, and managing programming for our Extended Learning Time (ELT) in collaboration with designated Boston Public Schools during non-Club operational hours.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in the execution of diverse athletic programs, activities, and events as directed.

- Supervise and maintain discipline among participants in programs and services within the designated area, as well as throughout the facility as necessary.

- Engage in collaborative initiatives and events with staff from other departments within the clubhouse and with personnel from other BGCB locations and community organizations as appropriate.

- Support the fulfillment of BGCB's program activity standards as assigned.

- Provide assistance to volunteers and consultants who can offer relevant instruction, support, and guidance to participants.

- Contribute to the assessment of our impact through participation in various evaluation efforts throughout the program year, including the annual member survey.

- Ensure the security and maintenance of materials, equipment, and other resources related to the program area(s). Uphold a safe and clean environment.

- Participate in individual and group supervision sessions; engage in professional development opportunities as appropriate.

- Travel between sites and to activities as required.

- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Athletics Program Manager and Program Director.

Position Requirements:

- High school diploma or GED is required.

- Direct experience in delivering athletics or fitness programs for youth.

- Coaching experience is preferred.

- Familiarity with trends in fitness, developmental games, and other athletic activities.

- Understanding of youth development principles.

- Must be or become CPR/FA certified.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

- Proficiency in MS Office and web applications is preferred.

- Ability to work effectively with youth and families from diverse backgrounds.

- Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

- Flexibility to accommodate clubhouse hours, particularly as seasons and service needs evolve.

- A valid driver's license is required.
