Job Overview

The Research Faculty member will engage in innovative research aimed at enhancing the sustainability of livestock production systems within the Texas Panhandle and southern High Plains.

This position is a non-tenure track, 12-month appointment with a full academic affiliation with the Texas A&M University Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering.

Additionally, an adjunct faculty role with the College of Engineering and/or the Paul Engler College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences at a partner institution is anticipated.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducts research focused on sustainable livestock production systems.
  • Collaborates with a diverse team to investigate airborne emissions, manure management, and the processing of livestock production co-products.
  • Secures external funding to support research initiatives.
  • Publishes findings in reputable, peer-reviewed journals.
  • Maintains active participation in professional organizations.
  • Shares research outcomes at various conferences and workshops.
  • Supervises technical staff and mentors students and post-doctoral associates.
  • Contributes to the cultural and social development of the agency and its affiliated departments.
  • Engages with stakeholders, including agricultural producer associations.
  • Works collaboratively with faculty and students involved in agricultural air quality research.

Administrative Structure: Reports to the Center Director and collaborates with the Department Head for performance evaluations.

Qualifications:

A Ph.D. in Biological and Agricultural Engineering or a closely related field is required. Candidates must demonstrate a strong ability to conduct independent research and effectively communicate findings.


Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degrees in engineering, professional licensure, and expertise in air quality management and livestock agriculture are highly desirable.
