Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Specimen Collector to join our team. As a Clinical Services Technician, you will be responsible for collecting specimens from patients of all ages, processing and allocating laboratory specimens, and verifying patient and specimen identification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect specimens from patients with minimal impact on their care
  • Process and allocate laboratory specimens from all sources
  • Verify patient and specimen identification, ensuring accuracy and appropriateness
  • Organize laboratory workflow and prioritize processing and distribution of specimens
  • Utilize equipment, instruments, and computer systems to test, request, accession, label, and deliver specimens to appropriate laboratory sections within acceptable time frames
  • Perform specified procedures within the scope of established testing methods and responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and quality control procedures on specified equipment and troubleshoot as needed

Requirements

  • 1 year of clinical experience as a Phlebotomist or equivalent education requirement
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Graduate Phlebotomy preferred
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred

Work Schedule

This position requires a 5:15am - 3:45pm work schedule, with every other weekend and 2-3 weekends per year.
