Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Deputy Sheriff to join our team at Eddy County, NM. As a Deputy Sheriff, you will be responsible for enforcing laws and ordinances, protecting the public's constitutional rights, and providing excellent customer service to the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide range of patrol duties, including enforcing laws and ordinances, and protecting the public's constitutional rights.
  • Work from rotating shift patrol assignments, operating a patrol vehicle in a designated area of the county.
  • Provide excellent customer service to the community, responding to calls for service, and resolving conflicts in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies, sharing information and resources to ensure public safety.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest laws, procedures, and technologies.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
  • Ability to pass a background check and polygraph examination.
