Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Deputy Sheriff II - Certified Law Enforcement Officer to join our team at Eddy County, NM. As a Deputy Sheriff II, you will be responsible for enforcing laws and ordinances, protecting the public's constitutional rights, and providing exceptional service to our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide range of patrol duties, including enforcing laws and ordinances, and protecting the public's constitutional rights.
  • Work from rotating shift patrol assignments, operating a patrol vehicle in a designated area of the county, and maintaining a high level of personal conduct and professionalism.
  • Carry out law enforcement duties with minimal supervision, while being mindful of the constitutional rights of the citizenry, both on and off duty.
  • Attend job-related meetings, both in and out of town, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Must be certified as a law enforcement officer.
  • Must be able to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to attend job-related meetings and training sessions.
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks, such as operating a patrol vehicle and engaging in physical activity.
