Pharmacy Technician II Supply Chain and Compounding Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician II to join our team in the Supply Chain and Compounding department at UNC Health Care. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient distribution of medications and supplies to our hospitals and clinics.
Responsibilities- Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, fulfill medication and supply orders for distribution to hospitals and clinics within and/or affiliated with the health-system.
- Compound and/or repack medications (sterile products, oral, topical, etc.) under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.
- Coordinate shipments to hospitals and clinics with multiple couriers and shipment pathways and ensure compliance with temperature requirements (i.e., cold chain, room temperature).
- Document pharmaceutical distribution activities for medications and equipment, quality control requirements, etc., using automated and paper systems.
- Ensure accuracy of data and respond to and triage requests from customers for assistance with pharmacy distribution or compounding services.
- Support hospital automated dispensing technology to supply correct refill medications through targeted distribution programs.
- Receive, restock, and rotate inventory, and complete expiration date management.
- Assist with training of new employees, educating them in job-specific functions.
- Contribute to process improvement projects.
- Participate in regulatory compliance inspection of medication storage areas, including inspections and/or controlled substance inventories, USP797 and other regulatory documentation as required.
- Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
- CPhT from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
- Prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred. Sterile compounding experience is preferred.
This position is employed by NC Health (Rex Healthcare, Inc., d/b/a NC Health), a private, fully-owned subsidiary of UNC Health Care System, in a department that provides shared services to operations across UNC Health Care.
