Pharmacy Technician II Certified

The Certified Technician II provides support to the pharmacist by reviewing, compounding, and dispensing medications. This role is part of an inclusive organization with over 40,000 teammates, whose mission is to improve the health and well-being of the unique communities we serve.
Responsibilities- Under the supervision of a pharmacist, fulfills medication and supply orders for distribution to hospitals and clinics within and/or affiliated with the health-system.
- Compounds and/or repackages medications (non-sterile products, oral, topical, etc.) under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.
- Coordinates shipments to hospitals and clinics with multiple couriers and shipment pathways and ensures compliance with temperature requirements (i.e., cold chain, room temperature).
- Documents pharmaceutical distribution activities for medications and equipment, quality control requirements, etc. using automated and paper systems. Ensures accuracy of data.
- Responds to and triages requests from customers for assistance with pharmacy distribution or compounding services.
- Supports hospital automated dispensing technology to supply correct refill medications through targeted distribution programs.
- Receives, restocks, and rotates inventory, and completes expiration date management.
- Assists with training of new employees, educating them in job-specific functions.
- Contributes to process improvement projects.
- Participates in regulatory compliance inspection of medication storage areas, including inspections and/or controlled substance inventories, USP797 and other regulatory documentation as required.
- Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
- CPhT from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
- Prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
- Requires standing for extended periods (most of an 8-hour shift).
- Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Must be able to reach over head to access shelved product.
