We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician II to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a Pharmacy Technician II, you will play a critical role in supporting our pharmacists in providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Receiving and accurately transcribing orders from prescribers under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Processing prescriptions in a timely manner to meet patient needs.
- Assisting with training of new employees and educating them in job-specific functions.
- Supporting Medication Therapy Management, Medsync, and other clinical outreach programs.
- Selecting and preparing medications as authorized by a physician, under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.
- Preparing medications for pick-up, delivery, or shipping, and returning unpurchased medications to stock and processing credits.
- Solving issues with patient payment and managing cash and other payments.
- Responding to and triaging requests from customers for assistance with pharmacy services that do not require a pharmacist's professional judgment or expertise.
- Operating and supporting automated dispensing technology to supply correct medications for individual patients, according to pharmacist and physician orders.
- Ordering, receiving, restocking, and rotating inventory and supplies, and contributing to expiration date management.
- Contributes to process improvement projects.
- Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
- CPhT from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
- Prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
