Inpatient Pharmacy Technician I/II Evening Shift

Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician I/II to join our team in the evening shift. As a Pharmacy Technician I/II, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications to our patients. You will work closely with our clinical pharmacists to provide excellent patient care and support our hospital's mission to advance health together.
Responsibilities- Accurately and efficiently process prescriptions, prepare medications, and distribute them to patients.
- Restock automatic dispensing cabinets and anesthesia workstations as needed.
- Answer and screen telephone calls, directing them to appropriate personnel when necessary.
- Handle medications in accordance with department, regulatory, and legal requirements.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team, insurance companies, and customers to resolve issues and ensure timely resolution of medication-related concerns.
- Assist with basic clinical functions in support of the clinical pharmacist, including medication safety and adherence initiatives, patient follow-up calls, and collection of clinical data.
- Operate and troubleshoot specialty machinery, equipment, devices, or software as necessary.
- Deliver medications and supplies to patient care and ancillary areas.
- Complete and document all assigned safety and quality activities in compliance with department procedures.
- Prepare IV solutions using aseptic technique and/or compound non-sterile medications at select locations.
- Manage individual responsibilities while supporting team members and contributing to broader team goals.
- Pharmacy Technician I: High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited pharmacy technician-training program, or acceptance into pharmacy school, or high school diploma or equivalent and one year of pharmacy or healthcare-related experience.
- Pharmacy Technician II: High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited pharmacy technician-training program, or acceptance into pharmacy school, or high school diploma or equivalent and one year of pharmacy or healthcare-related experience. North Carolina Board of Pharmacy registration is required, and Pharmacy Technician certification is required from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or The Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT).
