Pharmacy Technician II Certified

Job Summary
The Certified Technician provides support to the pharmacist by reviewing, compounding, and dispensing medications. All work is carried out under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.
This position qualifies for our Pharmacy Technician Incentive Program, which includes $5000 in commitment incentives spread over a two-year period. Payment is made after six months, one year, and two years of employment.
Responsibilities:
- Under the supervision of a pharmacist, fulfills medication and supply orders for distribution to hospitals and clinics within and/or affiliated with the health-system.
- Compounds and/or repackages medications (non-sterile products, oral, topical, etc.) under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.
- Coordinates shipments to hospitals and clinics with multiple couriers and shipment pathways and ensures compliance with temperature requirements (i.e., cold chain, room temperature).
- Documents pharmaceutical distribution activities for medications and equipment, quality control requirements, etc. using automated and paper systems. Ensures accuracy of data.
- Responds to and triages requests from customers for assistance with pharmacy distribution or compounding services.
- Supports hospital automated dispensing technology to supply correct refill medications thru targeted distribution programs.
- Receives, restocks, and rotates inventory, and completes expiration date management.
- Assists with training of new employees, educating them in job-specific functions.
- Contributes to process improvement projects.
- Participates in regulatory compliance inspection of medication storage areas, including inspections and/or controlled substance inventories, USP797 and other regulatory documentation as required.
Requirements:
- Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
- CPhT from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
- Prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
Work Environment:
Requires standing for extended periods (most of an 8-hour shift). Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift. Must be able to reach over head to access shelved product.
