About the Role

The Office of Investments at The Ohio State University is seeking a highly skilled Investment Associate to support the team's efforts in generating strong risk-adjusted returns for the Long-Term Investment Pool/Endowment. As a key member of a small and collaborative team, the successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Director of Investments to manage illiquid investment allocations, develop and recommend portfolio construction strategies, and source new investment opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and recommend portfolio construction strategies to optimize investment returns and minimize risk
  • Sourcing and evaluating new investment opportunities, including partnership investments and co-investments
  • Performing due diligence, negotiating, and recommending investments to the team
  • Monitoring investment activities and participating in advisory committees
  • Leading and participating in meetings with external managers and evaluating their performance using rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Providing guidance to Investments Analysts and assisting in preparing materials for presentations to the Board of Trustees and other University-affiliated groups
Requirements

To be successful in this role, the candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in management, finance, business, or a related field, and a minimum of six years of investment management experience acquired through private markets investing. Strong computing and quantitative skills, extensive knowledge of financial and investment theory and practice, and excellent writing and communication skills are also essential. The ability to make detailed presentations to both internal and external investment entities, as well as to thrive in a team environment while demonstrating leadership and initiative, is also required.
