Investment Analyst - Illiquid Strategy

The Office of Investments at The Ohio State University is seeking a highly skilled Investment Analyst to join its team. As a key member of the investment team, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the group's efforts to generate strong risk-adjusted returns for the Long-Term Investment Pool/Endowment.

The Investment Analyst will work closely with senior investment professionals to evaluate and monitor external managers, conduct rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis, and participate in meetings with a talented roster of external managers located across the globe. This is an excellent opportunity to gain broad exposure to investment strategy, portfolio construction, and financial markets, as well as to develop skills and experiences that will set a solid foundation for a successful career in the investment industry.

The position offers a competitive base salary and benefits, as well as participation in a long-term incentive pool that rewards team members for strong investment performance and quantitative and qualitative contributions to the team. The team is based at the Ohio State University's main campus in Columbus, Ohio, and works in-office Monday through Thursday with the flexibility for remote work on Fridays.

This is a two-year term position with the potential for one additional year, and the successful candidate will be considered for promotion to the next level at the end of the term period based on performance and team staffing needs.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and a strong academic record required. GPA of 3.5 or higher.
  • Strong computing and quantitative skills.
  • Knowledge of financial and investment theory and practice, including quantitative methods.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to make detailed presentations to both internal and external investment entities.
  • Ability to be an integral team member and thrive in a team environment while demonstrating leadership and initiative.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and skilled in analytics and modeling.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, commitment to ethical behavior and professionalism.
  • Ability and willingness to travel globally.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, information systems, mathematics, or a relevant field.
