The Role:
  • Deliver High-Quality Designs: Your engineering prowess, combined with our proprietary AI for MEP software, will enable you to produce some of the most precise and high-quality plans in the industry, significantly reducing the time required compared to traditional methods.
  • Contribute to Software Innovation: Your valuable insights and feedback will play a crucial role in the ongoing development and enhancement of Schnackel Engineers' AI for MEP software.

Key Duties:
  • Collaborate with clients, the MEP/FP/IT design team, and other consultants to ensure alignment with the client's vision, identify conflicts, and maintain a fully coordinated interdisciplinary design.
  • Engage in meetings and conference calls as necessary to facilitate project progress.
  • Become well-versed in the relevant codes applicable to each project.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and other software tools to produce comprehensive electrical construction document packages, including plans for electrical distribution, devices, equipment connections, lighting, controls, fire alarm systems, and associated circuitry.
  • Conduct essential calculations to support design decisions, such as load, short-circuit, and photometric calculations.
  • Coordinate with local utility providers to secure necessary utility services for projects.
  • Work with equipment vendors and manufacturers to select and specify appropriate equipment.
  • Provide construction administration services, including responding to requests for information (RFIs).
  • Offer guidance and mentorship to colleagues, fostering their professional growth.
Qualifications:
  • Possess an ABET-accredited degree in Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis or Electrical Engineering focused on power systems.
  • Have five or more years of experience in electrical design with an MEP/FP engineering consultancy.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) and NFPA 72 (National Fire Alarm & Signaling Code).
  • Hold Engineer-Intern (EI) credentials in Electrical Engineering.
  • Possess or be eligible to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) credentials in Electrical Engineering.
  • Exhibit exceptional communication and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
