Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Campus Teaching & Learning Innovations, the Senior Learning and Teaching Design Consultant (HCBE) plays a pivotal role in executing various strategic initiatives through the development, implementation, and communication of key educational projects. This position is responsible for managing complex resources to facilitate personalized learning experiences for both educators and students, leveraging data to enhance educational outcomes.

Essential Responsibilities

Project Planning and Facilitation
  • Directs project planning efforts to support K-12 educational discussions and workgroups, establishing clear objectives, scope, risk management strategies, timelines, and project milestones.
  • Utilizes project management methodologies to oversee project execution.
  • Conducts educational research to address pertinent issues and develop solutions aimed at enhancing educational programs.
  • Collaborates with the K-12 Dean of Academics and Senior Data Analytics & Learning Consultant to lead data collection and analysis aligned with strategic goals.
  • Manages comprehensive project planning and tracking, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Coordinates access to essential resources for design and implementation.
  • Applies quality assurance criteria to ensure project alignment with strategic plans.
  • Identifies and mitigates risks associated with product design that could impact project success.
Educational Design and Process Management
  • Conducts feasibility studies and collaborates with leadership to formulate recommendations for new HCBE implementations in K-12 learning.
  • Facilitates educational design discussions, taking ownership of tasks that enhance the student experience.
  • Analyzes and seeks opportunities for process optimization.
  • Collaboratively designs and implements process improvements.
  • Examines multiple systems to identify integration opportunities for improved efficiency.
  • Oversees technical solutions that support personalized learning.
Communication
  • As an instructional leader, provides updates on project development and implementation to stakeholders, addressing inquiries and feedback as necessary.
  • Effectively collaborates and communicates with stakeholders on a range of educational issues.
  • Engages stakeholders in reviewing and evaluating design change requests.
  • Leads efficiency testing through peer reviews and live trials with educators.
  • Plans and reports evaluations of products and processes.
Training and Professional Learning
  • Designs and facilitates professional learning opportunities for leaders, faculty, and staff.
  • Creates tailored training documentation for various audiences.
  • Collaboratively plans and implements relevant K-12 professional development initiatives.
Reporting
  • Maintains regular system reports for tracking and generates them as needed.
  • Creates custom reports for stakeholders as required.
  • Extracts data and presents it using spreadsheets, graphs, and tables.
  • Monitors system activities and outcomes.
  • Collaborates with data analysis teams to produce reports for decision-making.
Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Education, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience with increasing responsibility.
  • A minimum of 4 years in a leadership role, demonstrating strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment.
  • Proficient in process analysis and improvement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with educational databases.
  • Proven ability to foster collaborative partnerships.
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn new systems.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective data visualization skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in a related field.
  • Experience consulting with educators on data interpretation.
  • Background in indigenous education or nonprofit sectors.
  • Knowledge of Hawaiian culture, history, or language.
