WSP USA is in search of a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team.

As a key member of our Buildings Team, you will engage in diverse projects that align with our clients' goals and address their challenges.

Your role will encompass providing advanced technical support and expertise for various phases of due diligence, assessment, remediation, permitting, design, development, and construction of utility, industrial, and commercial projects across both public and private sectors. Responsibilities include conducting research, conceptual design, planning, and executing the construction of transmission and distribution substations, power distribution systems, renewable energy solutions, and protection and control systems across multiple contexts. You will substantiate reports and documentation to guide material selection, installation, design, and construction specifications, ensuring that all responsibilities are executed with a quality that meets or exceeds industry standards for design, safety, and functionality.

Your Contributions
  • Guide the collection, compilation, and analysis of data related to physical work sites, blueprints, GIS data maps, and equipment specifications for procurement and pricing development.
  • Coordinate and approve electrical infrastructure design plans for less complex projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
  • Utilize advanced electrical engineering techniques to enhance various project phases, including concept development and construction.
  • Conduct intricate electrical engineering tasks related to the design of wiring diagrams, substation layouts, and grounding systems in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Incorporate future-ready design strategies that prioritize safety and functionality for end-users and systems.
  • Review electrical calculations for loads, equipment sizing, and protective device coordination.
  • Develop and assess plans, specifications, and cost estimates while coordinating with various stakeholders.
  • Implement advanced technologies and design standards to ensure optimal installation and operation of systems.
  • Oversee the management of electrical infrastructure projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Monitor cross-functional teams to ensure project execution aligns with budgets and timelines.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and visualizations to communicate complex data and findings effectively.
  • Maintain a high level of responsiveness to client needs in alignment with company standards.
  • Analyze field investigation data to develop action plans for risk mitigation.
  • Prepare and implement site Health and Safety Plans.
  • Engage with regulatory agencies and clients professionally.
  • Collaborate with various professionals on funded improvement and development projects.
  • Stay updated on the latest electrical engineering practices and technologies.
  • Uphold ethical decision-making and adhere to company policies.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5 to 10+ years of relevant experience in electrical engineering with a focus on design deliverables for capital projects.
  • Engineer license or ability to obtain.
  • Proficient in electrical engineering principles and practices.
  • Extensive knowledge of infrastructure design.
  • Experience in electrical infrastructure planning and construction management.
  • Knowledge of relevant engineering laws, codes, and compliance practices.
  • Ability to conduct inspections and investigations in accordance with regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-leadership and attention to detail in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in technical writing and design software.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors effectively.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to company policies.
  • Flexibility to work beyond standard hours as required.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
Preferred:
  • Master's Degree in Engineering.
  • 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER).
  • Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training.

Compensation:

Expected Salary Range: $93,700 - $136,620, depending on experience and qualifications.
