Position Summary:
We are in search of a detail-oriented individual to fulfill the role of Accounting Manager within our finance department. This pivotal position will contribute significantly to our accounting operations and facilitate the monthly and quarterly accounting close processes. The Accounting Manager will operate as an individual contributor and report directly to the Director of Accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Timely and accurate preparation of journal entries, ensuring all supporting documentation is in place for month-end and quarter-end closes, as well as various accounting transactions including prepaid expenses and accrual entries.
  • Manage cash transactions, which includes preparing payments, entering deposits, overseeing Positive Pay, and conducting bank account reconciliations.
  • Serve as the primary contact for employee stock administration inquiries, collaborating closely with employees and our external stock administration partner.
  • Assist in coordinating external audits and provide necessary documentation.
  • Engage in ad-hoc projects as assigned by management.
  • Participate in process improvements, financial system enhancements, and special projects as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business, with two to three years of relevant experience in an accounting operations role.
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly with advanced Excel capabilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring high accuracy and precision in all tasks.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with interdepartmental teams.
  • A proactive team player with a high energy level suited for a small company environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors.
  • Background in public company accounting.
  • Familiarity with Sage Intacct and Coupa software.

Compensation:
The anticipated salary range for this position is between $136,000 and $165,000, influenced by various factors including skills, experience, and market dynamics. This role is part of a comprehensive total rewards program that includes competitive cash compensation, equity awards, and extensive benefits.
