Job Summary:

The Associate Director of Finance and Administration will provide strategic leadership and management of administrative and finance-related functions for Stanford ChEM-H, with a focus on supporting the research and teaching mission of the institute.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage finance and administrative staff to achieve the research and teaching mission, goals, and objectives of ChEM-H in partnership with leadership.
  • Develop, monitor, analyze, forecast, and report on the annual budget, including managing finances across all sources.
  • Manage and coordinate grants and contracts for the department, ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures.
  • Represent the unit's business and academic operations within the organization/school, promoting a culture of belonging, equity, and safety.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and other stakeholders to develop and implement short-term and long-range plans for human resources, operational needs, organizational structure, facilities & planning management, space, and IT.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience in administrative and financial management, or combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, with strong financial expertise in accounting, budget planning, and financial forecasting.
  • Strong expertise in grants and contract administration, business and management computer applications, and databases.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage deadlines, with experience working in a fast-paced environment.
