Position Overview:

The Strategic Brand Communication Leader plays a pivotal role in overseeing the strategic formulation, planning, and execution of both digital and traditional brand communication initiatives that align with integrated marketing communications (IMC) strategies to fulfill the marketing and sales goals of Terumo Medical Corporation. This role significantly influences the financial outcomes of the business unit and necessitates a high degree of leadership, management, and collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with various teams, particularly the Product Marketing division, to ensure that brand communication initiatives are in harmony with a comprehensive integrated marketing strategy. This includes leading, planning, developing, and executing communication programs and campaigns across various platforms.

The communication mediums utilized will encompass advertisements, brand materials, video content, email outreach, and educational resources through a variety of traditional and digital channels.

Oversee external agencies tasked with the design, creation, implementation, and assessment of brand communication initiatives, including messaging, media strategies, and material production.

Engage in continuous collaboration with medical, regulatory, and legal teams to ensure adherence to FDA regulations and appropriate clinical representation of assets.

Manage budgetary allocations and ensure that all brand communication expenditures remain within the sanctioned budget.

Provide direction on brand guidelines and conduct training for associates.

Utilize market research firms as necessary for qualitative and quantitative analysis.

Assist in the strategic planning and execution of trade exhibitions.

Offer strategic guidance in the development of the company’s internet and intranet platforms.

Contribute to internal projects that may involve content creation, editing, and proofreading.

Oversee media schedules and contribute to public relations initiatives, including the formulation and input of press releases.

Play a vital role in the organization and execution of company-wide events and activities.

Continuously enhance knowledge of current and new product lines, as well as relevant disease states and treatments, to ensure the creation of effective communication materials.

Commitment to Quality:

Demonstrate a commitment to patient safety and product excellence by adhering to all quality system requirements. This includes promptly reporting customer feedback and ensuring that all promotional messaging and materials are clinically accurate and comply with industry guidelines.

Work Environment:

This role is primarily office-based, with approximately 20% overnight travel required, including occasional weekend commitments. There may be instances where entry into medical facilities is necessary, adhering to vendor credentialing policies.

Qualifications:

Possess a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communication, Marketing, or a related field, along with a minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible marketing communications experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience in the medical device sector, particularly in cardiovascular or endovascular fields, is highly preferred.

Demonstrate proficiency in multimedia and digital marketing, along with the ability to research and implement emerging technologies.
