Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic evaluations of drainage systems, including the design of stormwater management facilities and floodplain analysis.
- Design and oversee best management practices for erosion and sediment control.
- Prepare technical documentation such as drainage reports, pond siting assessments, and permitting documents with minimal supervision.
- Develop construction plans in accordance with industry standards.
- Plan, schedule, and supervise the work of junior engineers.
- Assist in quality control of design documents and construction plans to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Support project pursuits, including technical proposals and presentations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Over 10 years of experience in highway drainage design and plan development.
- Expertise in hydrology and hydraulic analysis, as well as stormwater management facility design.
- Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Proficient in MicroStation and stormwater design software such as SUDA, Geopak Drainage, and HEC-RAS.
- Familiarity with industry design standards and the ability to interpret technical guidelines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team to meet design and schedule objectives.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills.
- Knowledge of environmental permitting requirements.
- Experience in developing hydraulic reports, including scour analyses.
Minimum Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend technical documents in English.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Able to navigate construction sites with varying terrain.
- Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment.
