Job Summary

This role is responsible for performing a wide range of tasks related to instrumentation and electrical maintenance in a production environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems and be able to troubleshoot and repair complex issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all relevant safety protocols and procedures.
  • Perform minor electrical repairs and installations, working independently or as part of a team.
  • Complete and submit required documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Utilize on-the-job training to develop and enhance the skills of shop mechanic personnel.
  • Install pneumatic tubing, layout tubing on skids, and connect to end devices.
  • Fabricate bracket braces and instrument racks.
  • Install wire and cable, both by hand and in cable trays.
  • Assist with changes to panel selection, wiring, and other electrical systems.
  • Maintain a file of installation design and technique for new units, using pictures and diagrams to document procedures.
  • Test control panels and make connections in compliance with 10lb pull tests.
  • Perform unit certification, final inspection, and test documentation.
  • Make final electrical connections after installation of conduit and tubing.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
  • 1-3 years of related experience, with a minimum of 2 years of electrical experience.
  • Some experience in the area of electronics is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, NEC, and other technical documents.
  • Knowledge of compression service and functionality, as well as MCC and switchgear.
  • Working knowledge of end devices and system flow.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment, with frequent exposure to electrical systems and equipment. The ideal candidate will be able to lift, move, and carry up to 50 pounds, and push and pull up to 110 pounds. Regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, and twist with good balance. Occasionally required to crawl, climb in and around equipment, stairs, and vertical ladders. Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
