Job Overview

Position Summary: The role involves executing a variety of Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) tasks up to 55 Volts AC/DC with limited oversight. Responsibilities include the installation of pneumatic tubing and electrical systems on production equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Core Duties:

  • Ensure a safe and organized workspace.
  • Conduct minor electrical repairs and installations independently or collaboratively.
  • Accurately complete and submit necessary documentation in a timely manner.
  • Install pneumatic tubing, arrange tubing on skids, and connect to end devices.
  • Fabricate support brackets and instrument racks.
  • Manually install wiring and cabling, including in cable trays.
  • Assist in modifications to panel selections and wiring configurations.
  • Maintain a record of installation designs and techniques through photographs and diagrams.
  • Test control panels and ensure connections meet compliance standards.
  • Conduct unit certifications, final inspections, and prepare test documentation.
  • Make final electrical connections post-installation of conduits and tubing.

Additional Responsibilities: Perform other assigned tasks as needed.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills:

  • Ability to execute all assigned tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving issues during testing phases.
  • Experience in troubleshooting energized motor controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read General Adjustment and P&ID drawings.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers regarding electrical component connections.
  • Assist in mechanical assembly tasks.
  • Adhere to all relevant safety and environmental policies and procedures.

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Moderate understanding of compression services and functionality to meet customer needs.
  • Familiarity with Motor Control Centers (MCC) and switchgear.
  • Working knowledge of end devices and system flow.
Education and Experience

Minimum Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical training is preferred.

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of related experience.
  • At least 2 years of electrical experience.
  • Some background in electronics is beneficial.

Leadership: May act as a resource for less experienced colleagues.

  • Regularly required to lift, move, and carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 110 pounds.
  • Occasionally required to carry at least 40 pounds with one hand for a distance of 10 feet.
  • Occasionally required to crawl and climb around equipment, stairs, and ladders.
  • Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
