Job Description

Job Title: Enterprise IT Systems Administrator

Job Summary:

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking an experienced Enterprise IT Systems Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT team, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining operating system workstations and servers, including web servers, in support of business processing requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain operating system workstations and servers, including web servers, in support of business processing requirements.
  • Perform software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages, scheduling installations and upgrades in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and tune the system to achieve optimum performance levels.
  • Ensure workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
  • Ensure data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
  • Support media management through internal methods and procedures or through offsite storage and retrieval services.
  • Develop and promote standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct routine hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation.
  • Perform systems administration of desktop and server systems connected to local and wide area networks, including account monitoring, security, Operating System (OS) installation, and other local area system administration related functions.
  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.
  • Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.
  • Provide support to IT systems, including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.
  • Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
  • Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remain involved in the resolution process.
  • Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems.
  • Install/load operating system and application software.
  • Isolate and resolve hardware and software problems involving the applications, the operating system, the hardware, the communications infrastructure, or any combination thereof.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain integrity, and configure network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Integrate new technologies into new and existing systems, including the transition and migration of corporate systems.

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree with 7 years of experience or Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience.
  • Ability to provide in-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systems.
  • Ability to provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.
  • Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI.
  • Required Certification(s): DoD M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract.
  • IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalent.
  • Computing Env: Computing Env: MSCA 2016, Microsoft Azure Administrator or equivalent (Must obtain the full AZ104 Microsoft Azure Administrator within 180 days from start date).

Additional Information:

  • Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contract.
  • Position may require lifting of objects (i.e. IT Hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling (i.e. plug in cables) and other moderately strenuous activity.
  • Travel may be required to support the mission.
