HOW AN IT CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL - INTERMEDIATE WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Under general supervision, responsible for moderately complex tasks typically relating to network monitoring, operations, installation or maintenance.
- Handles routine network activities and identifies and resolves routine network problems.
- Candidate must be able to travel to CONUS locations up to 50%, sometimes with short notice.
- Understands basic Cisco router/switch commands and can program initial network gear setups.
- Must be able to work independently and with other IT teams (networks, systems, cyber, etc.) without supervision.
- Must be able to travel on short notice when required.
- Must understand Desktop system troubleshooting and imaging techniques.
- Conducts hardware infrastructure site surveys, planning, and design
- Makes recommendations on hardware, cabling, and equipment requirements
- Provides installation management to include creating list of materials, bills of materials, estimating installation project timelines, determining installation team requirements, successfully executing installation projects, and documenting project status
- Plans, builds, and installs cable patch panels and cable infrastructures
- Installs and terminates all types of standard IT cable and fiber
- Provides equipment rack installation and equipment installations within a variety of locations that includes, but is not limited to, data centers, equipment rooms, communications closets, operations centers, and user workspaces
- Performs installs and terminations for all types of standard IT cable and fiber
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with network infrastructure and/or components
- Recommend changes and/or technology upgrades to address performance, standardization and industry best practices
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Education: Associate's Degree with 7 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience
- Required Skillset: Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network troubleshooting and support; Comprehensive knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and related network hardware and software; Comprehensive knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications
- Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI
- Required Certification(s): DoD .01-M IAT Level II/ Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract; IAT II / Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalent; Required Computing Environment (CE) certification: CCNA or equivalent
- Location : On Customer Site
- Additional : Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contract; Position may require lifting of objects (i.e. IT Hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling (i.e. plug in cables) and other moderately strenuous activity; Travel may be required to support the mission
