The FBM Program is currently experiencing substantial growth, and we seek your expertise to introduce groundbreaking technologies to our clients while upholding the technical standards of strategic deterrence.

As part of the FBM D5 Life Extension 2 (D5LE2) Program Design For x (DFx), you will collaborate with all members of the D5LE2 team, including clients, partners, and suppliers. This role may require travel to various locations.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute DFx strategies and processes for the D5LE2 Program throughout the entire product lifecycle, from development to disposal.
  • Engage with FBM production, assembly, testing, and field support teams to set clear DFx objectives and requirements.
  • Oversee the integration of DFx goals into product development activities, working closely with product development teams.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to provide updates on DFx initiatives for various products under development.

Typically requires 14+ years of professional experience.


Basic Qualifications:
  • At least 8 years of experience in systems engineering or product design.
  • Experience as part of a product development team, either as a design engineer or manufacturing engineer, utilizing a systematic approach to design for manufacturing or testing.
  • Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Demonstrated success in developing program or product improvement plans.
  • Experience with DoD or other government agency clients.

Must possess an active DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.


Desired Skills:
  • Familiarity with Lockheed Martin's organizational structure, programs, and command media.
  • Experience leading development activities through major design reviews.
  • Strong preference for familiarity with FBM customers.
  • Knowledge of FBM production, assembly, and testing processes.
  • Experience in reliability and/or quality engineering.
  • Proficiency with model-based engineering tools and methodologies.
  • Experience in leading and conducting trade studies.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners, demonstrating excellent communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team-building capabilities.
  • Exhibit a proactive, inclusive attitude and adaptability to dynamic environments.
  • Possess an active Top Secret clearance.

Compensation:

The annual base salary range for this position varies by location and is subject to market considerations.
