Anthropology Adjunct Professor

The Los Rios Community College District is seeking a qualified candidate for a part-time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position in Anthropology. This role involves teaching assigned classes under the supervision of the area dean, helping students achieve their academic potential, assessing student learning outcomes, and maintaining a thorough knowledge of the subject matter.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses across all levels in Anthropology, including Biological Anthropology, Biological Anthropology Lab, and Cultural Anthropology. The instructional assignment may vary by campus, and the candidate will be expected to adapt to different teaching environments.
To be considered for this position, applicants must have a master's degree in Anthropology or Archaeology, or a bachelor's degree in either field with a master's degree in a related field such as Sociology, Biological Sciences, or Forensic Sciences. The candidate must also have an equity-minded focus and be able to foster an inclusive educational environment.

Responsibilities
- Teach assigned classes in Anthropology, including Biological Anthropology, Biological Anthropology Lab, and Cultural Anthropology.
- Help students achieve their academic potential and assess student learning outcomes.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the subject matter and stay up-to-date with current developments in the field.
- Contribute to the development of curriculum and assessment methods.
- Participate in faculty governance and serve on college committees as needed.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Anthropology or Archaeology, or a bachelor's degree in either field with a master's degree in a related field such as Sociology, Biological Sciences, or Forensic Sciences.
- Equity-minded focus and ability to foster an inclusive educational environment.
- Ability to teach courses across all levels in Anthropology.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
